Understanding your body is the key to looking good and a trait found amongst all impeccably dressed fashionistas. While people shy away from talking about their bodies, these brave souls explain how they work their anatomies to their advantage
How would you describe your body type?
Interestingly enough, my body type differs in different weather. For example, even though I eat more in the winter, my body continues to remain fit but in the summer, even when I am following a diet regime and working out, I always feel like I am gaining weight. So, even though my body is naturally petite, my body shape varies in the winter and summer.
How has your style changed over the years?
My style has totally transformed over the years. When I started my career, I was a young student so I would dress how students dress on a regular basis. Now, however, I know how to dress elegantly and have learned how to conduct myself differently. Even my style of living has transformed because of my career.
Has your body type changed over the last five years?
My body has changed immensely over the past five years. I had a lot of baby fat on my cheeks, which in fact, I got rid of only last year. Clean eating and exercising has really helped me achieve my fitness goals. I’ve noticed that my body has become more balanced and toned now. I didn’t know anything about exercise or yoga while I was a student but after entering my modelling career, I’ve become aware of how my body needs to look on camera and so I always keep that in mind. Ultimately, I consider my body to be aesthetically perfect at this point of my life.
How do you dress your body according to your body type?
Since I am a ramp model, I believe it is my responsibility to pull off any look in the best possible way. I pay close attention to what I wear, which is why I keep myself updated on the most recent trends and make sure that I pick stylish items to wear according to my body type and according to the event I am attending.
In your opinion what is the biggest mistake a person can make while dressing here?
For me, no one is really making a mistake per se. However, I am not fond of the fact that everyone becomes obsessed with one fashion item and/or style at the same time, and aims to dress according to it. In fact, I think that majority of people here have good knowledge about how to dress for launches and parties but I don’t think people know how to dress appropriately for award shows. A lot of people show up to the red carpet at award shows in bridal couture. So, I think that’s one area people can definitely work on.
In your opinion what is your most troublesome area?
As of now, I don’t believe there is any troublesome area because I have worked hard to eliminate my least attractive features by following a healthy diet plan and regularly exercising.
Which silhouettes suit your body the most?
Two-piece suits are one silhouette which suit my body the most. Other than that, pencil skirts and dresses suit me quite well too.
What is the one piece of clothing that you shy away from wearing and why?
I’m not really shy about wearing anything in particular, especially since as ramp models, most girls like myself in the industry are used to wearing all sorts of clothes. Nevertheless, I don’t think I can ever see myself wearing a knotted t-shirt. I mean, let a t-shirt be what it is and skip the knotting part.
