'Gully Boy' will be Ranveer's second collaboration with Zoya Akhtar

Heart-throb Ranveer Singh has taken a break from all the Padmavati controversy and moved on to preparing for his next film Gully Boy, reported Yahoo!

In a video posted by YRF Talent, Ranveer is seen rapping along Mumbai-based rapper Vivian Fernandes, popularly known as Divine.



After Dil Dhadakne Do, Gully Boy will be Ranveer's second collaboration with director Zoya Akhtar. Also starring Alia Bhatt, the film is based on the true life story of Naved Shaikh aka Naezy who is a gully rapper from the Kurla slums.

When asked how he feels about Ranveer portraying his character, he said, "We've worked together before in Hey Bro; he's a versatile actor. I have no doubts that he can effortlessly play my character in this film."

Ranveer currently awaits the release of Padmavati before Gully Boy goes on floors in January. After wrapping it up, the Befikre actor will kick-start Kabir Khan's '83 in which he will be seen essaying the role of cricketing legend, Kapil Dev.
