According to Balochistan Levies, the incident took place in the Sangan area of Sibi where a convoy of the FC’s 130 Wing Sibi Scouts was clearing a road. “As a result of the blast, two FC soldiers embraced martyrdom and four others sustained injuries,” said an official.

After the blast, rescue workers and personnel of law enforcement agencies (LEAs) reached the spot and cordoned off the area. The injured were evacuated to a nearby hospital.

The injured FC soldiers were later airlifted to Quetta via a helicopter due to their critical wounds. So far no group has claimed responsibility for the attack.

Balochistan Chief Minister Sanaullah Zehri condemned the attack and killing of the FC soldiers, as he resolved to wipe out the menace of terrorism from the province.

“The menace of terrorism will be purged. The whole nation stands united with our security forces,” Zehri said in a statement. He also offered condolences to families of the martyred.

Balochistan Home Minister Sarfaraz Bugti and former federal minister for science Mir Dostain Domki also condemned the attack. “In fighting terrorism, the FC Balochistan has offered immense sacrifices and the people of Balochistan are united with our forces,” Bugti said.

“Terrorists who are killing our people will be wiped out,” he added.
