The Pakistan Peoples Party’s (PPP) Member National Assembly made the comments while reflecting on the government’s response to Faizabad sit-in, he observed that the Islamabad High Court had also remarked on how the situation was handled. He said the PML-N had been attacked by those (religious parties) they held dear.

Shah expressed concerns over how the protest had damaged Pakistan’s image globally. He said his [PPP] stood behind democracy and the Parliament, adding that PPP had always worked to strengthen parliament as it cared about Pakistan’s image, autonomy and integrity.
