Senior Chinese military official kills himself amid corruption probe
While giving the example of a senior Chinese military official, under investigation for corruption, who committed suicide earlier this month, the PTI Chairman shared his comments over the disparity of how corruption probes are handled in other regions and Pakistan.

Zhang Yang, a former member of the powerful Central Military Commission, was being investigated over links to fallen generals Guo Boxiong and Xu Caihou.
The probe in China verified that Zhang Yang “gravely violated discipline” was “suspected of giving and taking bribes” and the origin of a huge amount of assets was unclear.
On the afternoon of November 23, Zhang Yang hanged himself at home.

The cricketer-turned-politician had pushed the Supreme Court of Pakistan into launching a corruption probe against former prime minister Nawaz and some of his family members, including his sons – Hassan Nawaz and Hussain Nawaz – daughter Maryam Nawaz and son-in-law Captain (retd) Muhammad Safdar.
An accountability court is hearing into the corruption references against the Sharif family but the Sharifs portray that the corruption claims against them as politically motivated.
