Pakistan Railways faces oil shortage

KARACHI:

Pakistan Railways is currently facing fuel shortage and is left with an oil stock of only two days to run the trains.


Pakistan State Oil (PSO) cut down on oil supply to the railways due to lack of funds.


Railway officials instructed the operating officers to resort on maximum use of fuel. They said that the train service will be halted if sufficent oil supply will not be  ensured within 24 hours.


Meawhile, assistant operating officer of Faisalabad railway station confirmed the oil stockpile crisis.
