Japan honours two Pakistanis with 2017 Autumn Decorations award

Amir Shirazi and Roeeda Kabir honoured in recognition of their key roles in further boosting Pakistan-Japan ties

ISLAMABAD:
Two Pakistani nationals were conferred with the 2017 Autumn Decorations by the government of Japan on Monday for their contribution to promote Pak-Japan ties.

Honorary Consul General of Japan in Lahore Amir Hussain Shirazi was conferred with The Order of the Rising Sun, Gold Rays with Neck Ribbon while Pakistan-Japan Cultural Association (PJCA) President Roeeda Kabir was honoured with The Order of the Rising Sun, Gold Rays with Rosette.




"Without the support of Shirazi and Kabir it would have been impossible to exchange culture or commerce at the scale it has been done between the two countries," said Japanese Ambassador Takashi Kurai. The ceremony was held at the official residence of the envoy.

The two officials awarded the honour in recognition of their contributions to the development of Japan-Pakistan relations through promoting the mutual understandings and friendly relations between the two countries for a few decades.
