KHAIRPUR: A ceremony was held at Shah Abdul Latif University, Khairpur for the distribution of scholarship money provided by the Professional Education Foundation (PEF) to deserving students.

Vice-Chancellor (VC) Dr Parveen Shah distributed cheques to eight students of the main campus of the varsity and seven students of Shikarpur campus who had been selected on merit. The VC thanked the PEF for offering financial help to students for getting higher education. The cheques distributed at the event amounted to Rs596,200.

Dr Shah urged the students to play a positive role in society’s uplift and work for humanitarian causes. She also asked them to make efforts for defeating extremism and intolerance in the country.

Prof Sarfaraz Korejo, Dr Lutfullah Mangi, Dr Mumtaz Hussain and Dr Taj Muhammad Lashari were also present at the event.
