Skilled labour ‘ready for CPEC’  

A number of graduates of these courses are already working in CPEC related projects

LAHORE: The Technical Education and Vocational Training Authority (TEVTA) is all set to fulfil the needs of skilled labour required for the China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC). He said it had already started several courses. A number of graduates of these courses are already working in CPEC related projects and other industries, the chairman continued.

This was stated by TEVTA Chairman Irfan Qaiser Sheikh on Friday. He was speaking during a meeting at the authority’s secretariat. The chairman explained that no one could deny the importance of the CPEC as it was being called as game changer for the whole region. “Besides, it would lead Pakistan towards progress,” he said.

TEVTA tailors courses to suit industries

He added that the CPEC project would not only make Pakistan’s economy strong, but also provide employment opportunities to thousands, especially the youth. “In order to understand the exact needs of the CPEC industry, TEVTA set up a stall at the road show held in China a few months ago. It has also established strong linkage and relationships with the Chinese industries.”
