Martyred major laid to rest in Lahore

'He always wanted to do something for Pakistan'

LAHORE: Funeral prayer of Major Ishaq, who was killed in an operation against militants in Dera Ismail Khan, was offered at Ayub Stadium on Thursday.

The family of the martyr, Punjab Chief Minister Shehbaz Sharif, Corps Commander Lahore Lt-Gen Amir Riaz, Railways Minister Khawaja Saad Rafique and a large number of officers, soldiers and relatives were also present on the occasion.

Afterwards, the body of Major Ishaq was laid to rest at Cavalry Ground graveyard after being paid official tributes by army contingents.

Moving scenes were seen on the occasion. Brothers of Major Ishaq and other family members were also present on the occasion. They were resolute and were appreciating the sacrifice of their martyred loved one.

While talking to the media persons, the elder brother of the martyr said Ishaq was proud of being a Pakistani. “He always wanted to do something for Pakistan."
