November 27, 2017

Personal trainer and certified strength and conditioning specialist, Hussain Mirza takes us through a typical day in his life, where discipline and fun go hand in hand

5am:

Sleeping!

7am:

Quick shower, pre-breakfast smoothie and getting things ready for my 8am client.

8am:

First client shows up!

9.30am:

Breakfast time! Three to four eggs with toast and oatmeal.

10am:

Take the dogs out for a walk depending on the weather and take pictures for my Instagram page.

11am:

Catch up on cricket/football highlights while answering Instagram queries. I try my best to answer all of them.

12noon:

I visit my second client at her gym at home. Training is more fun when you get surprise visits by kids or pets in the house!

1pm:

Convince my friends to leave work and grab lunch.

2pm:

Time for another client.

3pm:

My workout. Pushing myself to all kinds of limits and then I have a post-workout shake.

4.30pm:

Getting ready for the busiest time of the day: Three back-to-back clients from 5pm to 8pm. For these three hours I’m going to be on my toes and more often than not I end up exercising. It could be in the form of coaching cues, correcting technique or exercising as a partner with my clients to keep them motivated.

8.30pm:

Dinner with the family. I live in a joint family system so there’s always a lot going on.

9.30pm:

Time to sit down and do some serious desk work which involves reviewing workout programmes for the next day and designing programmes for new clients.

11pm:

Fifa time! I’m super competitive. Not many people know this, but I was the national champiion for Fifa and Counter-Strike. DM me if you want to find out who’s better at it.

12am:

Fight with my dog for the blanket and then finally pass out.
