Invigilators supervising exams in two centres in the capital city were removed Monday after Karakoram International University (KIU) Vice Chancellor Dr Najma Najam objected to their performance, officials said.
“The officials supervising examination centres at Girls High School Kashrote and Boys High School have been removed after the VC raised objection to their performance,” said Shahid Shigri, a spokesman.
Dr Najma made surprise visits to a number of centres on Saturday to observe the situation inside examination halls as complaints against the use of unfair means increased. According to officials, the VC caught a number of students using unfair means in the presence of Invigilators. Taking action, the VC asked concerned officials of examination section to act against those involved in the negligence of their duty. The examination is being conducted in Gilgit-Baltistan (G-B) under the KIU board.
“Additional Controller Karim Khan immediately removed the staff on duty and deputed new staff in their place for the centres,” Shigri added.
Meanwhile, KIU suspended papers in Ghizer owing to the by-elections which are scheduled for April 28.
SSC examinations are underway in 19 examination centres in Ghizer
District, while exams in the rest of G-B would be held according to the schedule announced earlier.
