Punjab to train 400,000 youth 

PSDF starting another initiative, called ‘Industrial Training Programme 2018’

MULTAN: Over 400,000 youngsters from Punjab will be imparted technical training under the Punjab Skills Development Fund (PSDF) to enable them to earn livelihood through self-employment initiatives or avail opportunities in foreign countries.

Speaking at a seminar at the MCCI, PSDF Technical Assistant Manager Zohaib Haq said that over 200,000 youngsters have already been trained in 200 different trades under the initiative. He disclosed that PSDF was starting another initiative ‘Industrial Training Programme 2018’ seeking active involvement of business and industry.

He said that youth would be provided training in accordance with the feedback from industry. Also, the private sector would be required to provide jobs to around 50% of the trained youth and PSDF would pay a suitable amount to the industries concerned as training expenses.
