A two-judge bench, comprising Justices Gulzar Ahmed and Sajjad Ali Shah, gave the KE and other parties two weeks’ time to come up with a resolution.
During the hearing of the case, the judges were told that the management of the company had filled 67 posts reserved for disabled people by hiring physically and mentally sound persons, in complete violation of the service rules and regulations.

The court was pleaded to declare such appointments unlawful. A direction was also sought for the KE to undo these appointments and hire deserving people.
At the outset, the bench members expressed their displeasure over the KE management’s policy of hiring employees through a third party.
They were told by a lawyer representing the company that the management had awarded the contract to a private employment firm to hire the respective staff.

Justice Gulzar Ahmed, the bench’s head, termed the decision of hiring employees through a third party a shameful act. The judges recalled that the apex court had already passed three orders in the case. Therefore, they asked KE to seriously consider the problems faced by the terminated employees.
They granted two weeks’ time to the lawyers appearing for the parties to come prepared on the next hearing to argue the matter. They also asked them to come up with a solution on the matter.
