ISLAMABAD: The Pakistan Businessmen and Intellectuals Forum (PBIF) urged the government to find a solution to the standoff between cane millers and farmers over sugarcane production.

PBIF President Mian Zahid Hussain, in a statement, said that increased sugarcane production has resulted in larger surplus stocks which need immediate attention of the federal and provincial governments. He was of the view that growing tensions between owners of sugar mills and growers is likely to cause damages.
