ISLAMABAD: Advisor to Prime Minister on National History and Literary Heritage (NH&LH) Irfan Siddiqui on Monday announced that the formal inauguration of first Calligraphy Wing will be held at National Language Promotion Department (NLPD) next month. “Calligraphy Wing will serve as a milestone towards revival and promotion of glorious art of lettering and encourage young calligraphers to achieve excellence in their artistic endeavours,” Siddiqui said. He was speaking at a meeting held at the department for reviewing the arrangements to establish the wing. The building of NLPD has sufficient space to establish Calligraphy Wing, Siddiqui added and directed officials of the department to complete the initial arrangements so that it can be officially inaugurated within a month. NLPD Director General Iftikhar Arif briefed Siddiqui about the preparations for setting up this wing and estimated cost of expenditures.
