PESHAWAR: As winter takes hold in Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa (K-P), the provincial chief secretary wants better coordination and communication between the relevant departments at all levels to tackle communicable diseases such as polio.

K-P Chief Secretary Muhammad Azam Khan, while addressing a meeting of the provincial task force for polio eradication at the Civil Secretariat in Peshawar on Friday, stressed upon effective coordination and communication between the emergency operation centre and district administrations across the province.

Azam said that all departments should exchange best practices and experiences, local and modern remedies and case-to-case solutions with each other.

While referring to vaccine refusals, officials were told that they should work to convince the parents to ensure that there are no refusals.
