PESHAWAR:

The situation in Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa would have been very different had we not inherited lawlessness and terrorism from the past regime. This was stated by Provincial Minister for Information and Culture Mian Iftikhar Hussain on Suday while speaking at the Hujra of ANP Provincial General Secretary Tajuddin Khan at Wazir Garhi, Nowshera.

Despite the odds, the minister said, developmental projects worth billions of rupees are underway at full pace in the province.

Mian Iftikhar announced the pavement of the two-kilometre Tazadin-Wazir Garhi Road and 2 million rupees for power generating projects in the area.

The minister also said that the goals of prosperity cannot be achieved without bringing women into the national mainstream and that is why women have to work and prove themselves while working side by side with men. Talking about incidents of terrorism, the Minister expressed his desire to see a time when there is no anti-state element left.

The minister later distributed party caps among new members and others in attendance.
