Accountability court slaps XEN with Rs1.6b fine

Sentences him to seven years in prison

LAHORE: Accountability Court (AC) No 1 Judge Imtiaz Hussain awarded Executive Engineer (XEN) Tariq Saeed a seven-year term in prison, along with a Rs1.63 billion fine.

He was accused of possessing assets beyond his known sources of income.

National Accountability Bureau (NAB) Lahore launched an investigation against the accused XEN following a complaint filed by sources. They accused him of having assets beyond his known sources of income. The investigations revealed numerous properties and bank accounts owned by the suspect and his spouse.

Assets owned by the accused include two plots in Garden Town area of two kanals and 10 marlas respectively, a farmhouse on Raiwind Road, Lahore; one house of six kanals (Lahore); two shops in Gulber III; plot in Murree of 18 kanal and four luxury cars. During the course of investigation, all of his assets were confiscated by NAB under the National Accountability Ordnance (NAO).
