Collaboration on innovative solutions aims to improve livelihood and affordability for rural communities

KARACHI: Goats for Water (UpTrade) and the Thardeep Rural Development Program (TRDP) signed a memorandum of understanding in TRDP’s Facilitation Office on Monday to collaborate on innovative solutions aimed at improving livelihood and affordability for rural communities. Goats for Water (UpTrade) is a barter-financing solution provider for off-grid, rural communities. Their work is aimed at enhancing lives in rural areas by enabling rural populations to purchase community-owned solar assets such as micro-grids, solar water pumping solutions and solar home systems with livestock. Thardeep is a not-for-profit integrated rural development programme working with the most vulnerable segments of rural communities particularly women to help marginalised people achieve sustainable livelihood and better quality of life.
