FAISALABAD: At least 10 schoolchildren suffered injuries when a tractor trolley hit a school van due to thick smog on Millat Road, Faisalabad on Monday.

Millat Town Police Station Assistant Sub-Inspector Shahid said that a school van, bearing registration number FSO-1261, carrying children was on its way when a recklessly driven tractor trolley coming from behind hit the vehicle near Rasoolpur due to poor visibility.

As a result, 10 children sustained minor injuries. They were shifted to Allied Hospital for treatment. Later, they were discharged after provision of first aid.

Meanwhile, different districts of South Punjab continue to be in grip of severe smog due to variations in temperature. Cities, including Multan, Vehari, Bahawalpur and Muzaffargarh have been affected by smog for the last few days. The smog that consists of nitrogen oxide, carbon monoxide, sulphur and other aerosols is causing health issues for the citizens, who have been complaining about breathing problems, eye infections and minimum visibility on roads.
