Instagram now lets you upload content older than 24 hours to your story

They're keeping up with the tradition of copying Snapchat

After Snapchat let users upload pictures and videos taken before to your story, Instagram was quick to follow suit, although it only lets you add pictures taken from the last 24 hours.

However, in a new update, they are letting users add pictures and videos to their stories not just from the last 24 hours but those taken at any time.



Instagram is often accused of copying its rival Snapchat when it comes to certain features, such as the “Stories” feature but despite its origins, the Facebook-owned Photo giant has certainly surpassed Snap's audience after crossing over 200 million daily stories users.

The new feature lets the users add pictures from the camera roll instead of limiting it to the 24 hours as it did before while automatically adding the sticker showing the time stamp of when the picture was taken.

The sticker can also be removed something Snapchat doesn't let you do so far.



“Now, you’ll be able to easily find and choose anything from your camera roll and share it instantly with friends,” stated the press release.

The feature is available for both Android and iOS.
