Instagram has rolled out a new feature that lets you shoot 3-second videos in a super-zoomed mode.

The feature certainly draws resemblance to Boomerang which produces GIF-like videos.

“Superzoom is an easy way to record a funny video with dramatic sound effects,” revealed Instagram in a blog post on Thursday.

Instagram Stories more popular than the app it copied from

It works on just about anything - your face, your friends face or the object lying closest to you and also lets you add music in the background. Once you are done, you can send this as a direct message to your friends or share it as a Story.

Last year, Instagram introduced the Stories feature amid allegations that the photosharing app copied a popular feature of its rival, Snapchat. Regardless of its origin, the feature fared pretty well and has created its own Stories market out there.

“Over 200 million people now use Instagram Stories every day to keep up with friends and accounts they love,” according to a blog post earlier this year.

Instagram has also announced new Halloween stickers and face-filters.

Instagram now lets you hide your embarrassing pictures from your profile

This feature allows you to take a spooky picture record an eerie video and make it even more unnerving by adding filters and stickers on it as a final touch.

“Get into the Halloween spirit by turning yourself into a zombie, transforming from a vampire into a flying bat or getting lost in a mysterious fog,” the company stated in a post.
