Official sources told The Express News that cybercrime complaints of the province are being ignored due to low staff. He said a shortage of officers has become a problem for FIA Karachi and is encouraging cyber criminals.
The source also said on Thursday FIA Director Sindh Zone has written a letter to director general FIA and has briefed him about the prevailing situation of Karachi’s cyber wing.

"Time and again requests have been made to the FIA headquarters to provide capable officers who can deal with cybercrime but it has not materialised,” director Sindh wrote in the letter.
He said that the director in his letter has also suggested that junior officers of BS 16 may be given additional charge of the BS 17 posts.
The director also said that the cyber rescue helpline – 9911 which is round the clock - lacks the required number of officers and expertise to act against criminals when complaints are lodged.
