Crime: Two held for killing their friend

Alleged killers wanted to extort money from family of the deceased.

Golra police on Saturday arrested two persons for killing their friend after they had kidnapped him for ransom. The alleged killers wanted to extort money from the family members of the deceased.


Earlier, a body of the person, who was identified as Rehman Shehzad, a resident of Lahore, was found from Dhok Kashmirian area of G-14/2.

A special team was constituted which succeeded in searching and arresting two accused persons. During the initial investigations, the suspects confessed to having kidnapped Shehzad for ransom.

They wanted to contact his family to extort money but he refused to give them any contact number. “On this, the killers got furious and strangulated him to death in the same house,” said a police official.

Meanwhile, the same police arrested two alleged motorcycle thieves, Irfan and Naseem Shehzad, and recovered a stolen motorbike (RIL-1499) from their possession.
