Sargodha University establishes e-Rozgar centre

Programme will help youth earn through online jobs, businesses

SARGODHA: The University of Sargodha (UoS) has established an e-Rozgar centre to enable educated youth to earn through online jobs and businesses under the chief minister’s scheme.

The Punjab government issued Rs2 million grant, including 100 laptops, furniture, manpower and all other essential gears for the students of Sargodha division.

The students, who completed 16 years of education, were eligible for free registration. Business Department Incharge Hammad Hassan Mirza said under the programme, the university will provide three months opportunity to make an online business with more chances for employment.

He added that entrepreneurship and self-business opportunities through freelancing will help the youth a great deal to explore more profitable avenues and contribute to the national economic development.

He said e-Rozgar programme was an initiative of Punjab government, Punjab Information Technology Board, sports ministry and archaeology and tourism department.

Mirza maintained that job training programme will enable the youth to get online income opportunities in technical, non-technical and creative fields worldwide.

The government has decided to set up similar centres in 36 districts of the province while 10,000 graduates would be given three months training at e-Rozgar centre in the first phase.
