'Veere Di Wedding' actor, Swara Bhaskar reveals sexual harassment by Bollywood director
“There have been catcalls during shoots and eve-teasing on one of my sets,” says Swara Bhaskar.

Swara Bhaskar, starring in the upcoming Veere di Wedding, alongside Sonam Kapoor and Kareena Kapoor revealed in an interview to Mumbai Mirror about how she was harassed by a drunken director when she was new in Bollywood. She also said that she lost a few roles because she wouldn’t give in. Swara said, “Some people even stopped responding to my messages because they knew I would not give in.”

The Tanu Weds Manu actress also confessed that she was stalked by a director and had also received texts and dinner invites while shooting in a remote location. The actress quoted, “I was asked to go to his hotel room on the pretext of discussing the scene and would find him drinking. During the first week itself, he started talking about love and sex and one night arrived in my room, drunk, and asked to be hugged.”

On dealing with such kind of behaviour in the industry, Swara said that it’s better to lose the part than succumb to such an act of wrongdoing.

Swara is currently shooting Veera di Wedding with Sonam Kapoor and Kareena Kapoor which is set to release in 2018.
