LANDI KOTAL: At least two people were injured when a blast hit a marketplace in Landi Kotal early on Friday.

According to details, an Improvised Explosive Device (IED), hidden in a plastic bag, went off in Zakhakhel Adda Rangra market and also partially damaged three vehicles that were parked nearby while two civilians, Muhammad Rehman and Awwal Sher, were injured.

Meanwhile, security forces cordoned off the area and a search operation has been initiated.

Two security officials were killed and nine others were injured, when another roadside IED planted by unidentified militants exploded in Landikotal in 2014.

A convoy of the Frontier Corps (FC), heading from Landi Kotal to Peshawar, was the target of the attack on the Pak-Afghan Highway.
