In connection with an ongoing inquiry against former director-general Nasir Abbas, the NAB team arrested one of KDA's directors, Syed Ubaid Ahmed, who is a grade-19 officer, and record room in-charge Kamran from KDA's office in Civic Centre and also claimed to have seized sensitive records during the raid.
Ahmed is prima facie involved in approving amenity plots for illegal use, said NAB's spokesperson. According to him, Ahmed will be presented before the accountability court for physical remand.
The NAB team conducted the raid on leads obtained from Abbas, who was arrested in September by the Federal Investigation Agency for allegedly possessing two passports simultaneously. Later, in early October, his custody was transferred to NAB.
Abbas was also brought handcuffed by the NAB team to the Civic Centre office. The KDA staff was interrogated in Abbas's presence, while all the entry and exit points of the office were sealed during the raid.
