An SHO and another officer were martyred in an exchange of fire between police personnel and smugglers on Wednesday.
According to details, the police had raided a smuggler’s den to recover illegal arms and ammunition in Charsadda’s Majoki area when the culprits opened fire at the police.

As a result, SHO Ayub Khan and another policeman Shah Hussain were martyred while one police official was injured. A smuggler was also injured in the retaliatory fire by the police, DSP Iftikhar Shah said.
One of the injured policemen was shifted to the Lady Reading Hospital Peshawar.
Police also started a search operation in the area.
