"Every woman has the right to make her own choices in life ...

Just like we men do," he wrote.

Now, the singer has finally revealed his reasons behind supporting the Verna star. “For so long in this part of the world, we have suppressed women in general — especially us men who think that we are superior and women are our slaves. We feel we can do whatever we want... as if we own them,” Ali told Gulf News in an interview.

He continued, “Ultimately, it’s her life. I do understand that when you're in the limelight you need to be more careful about various things. But at the end of the day, we are all human. We all make mistakes - we need to be more compassionate and forgiving towards one another.”

Mahira Khan returns to social media and fans are over the moon

“I don’t think this is something great that I have done. These are just the basics. Our fundamentals and our basics are so wrongly placed that its taking time for us to get back to the right,” he concluded.
