Football team coach blames poor defence for the 3-0 loss.

KARACHI:

The Pakistan Premier League champions Wapda lost to Taiwan Power Company (TPC) 3-0 in the President’s Cup 2011 Group C match in Kathmandu, Nepal.

TPC opened their account through Kuao-Kai Pan just four minutes before half-time and led 1-0 at the interval. Wapda’s weak defence gave way to Yi-Wei Chen, who doubled TPC’s lead in the 55th minute. But it was Ming-Chan He who sealed the victory 10 minutes later.

Meanwhile, Wapda coach Khalid Butt felt the result was due to poor judgement of the players that saw them concede goals in quick succession.

“I must say that our defenders let us down again,” Khalid told The Express Tribune. “This has been our worst performance in three years and I’m really disappointed.”

The coach also said that the team’s aim is to get through to the semi-final of the tournament, which requires Wapda to win their match against Balkan FC tomorrow.
