A case for recruiting polio staffers has been forwarded to the federal government for necessary approval to permanently address the issue a shortage of polio workers in the city.
On special directions from the prime minister, a committee has been constituted under Islamabad Mayor and Capital Development Authority (CDA) Chairman Sheikh Anser Aziz to maintain the capital’s status of polio-free.
Aziz disclosed this while chairing a readiness meeting for the upcoming polio campaign on Sunday.
While addressing zonal supervisors, Aziz directed them to perform their duties with devotion and motivate area in-charges and polio workers of their respective zones so that desired results could be achieved.
He added that they were involving zonal supervisors in the initial planning stages all the way to the final stages so that they can play a vital role in making the campaign a success.
