Zakhakhel peace committee targeted in Khyber Agency, two militants killed

Posts of the committee were fired upon by militants from Afghanistan

LANDIKOTAL: The Zakhakhel peace committee was targeted by militants from across the border who opened fire on their posts from Afghanistan.

According to sources, peace Lashkars in the area, Tauhidul Islam came under attack from militants from across the border.

Sniper who attacked Pakistani forces killed in Afghanistan

Heavy exchange of fire continued for over two hours in which two militants were killed. The bodies were taken into custody by the peace committee.

The source said that the remaining militants managed to escape.

A young officer of the Pakistan Army embraced martyrdom last month when terrorists from across the border fired upon a Pakistani post in Khyber Agency.

Lieutenant Arsalan Alam, 22, who belonged to the army’s Sindh regiment, was commanding the border post in Rajgal, in the Tirah valley, when it came under fire from inside Afghanistan.
