Let’s face it, a wedding is downright bland or rather incomplete without a bespoke cake representing the personalities of the couple or some sort of a theme. We round up a couple of our favourite cakes and delectable treats for a memorable sweet ending to your wedding!

The Checklist

Research, research, research!

One of the most vital steps of planning a wedding is research and that includes research for your wedding cake! Look up different bakeries in your city, ask friends for recommendations and accordingly look up prices, the styles and varieties on offer and if they will be able to cater to you for your special day.

Timing is key

Don’t leave your cake order till the last minute. Prior to execution, cakes take a lot of time, effort and planning. And with wedding season in full swing, your order won’t be the only one. Vendors will be dealing with a lot of other orders and other brides. Give yourself enough time to research, design and order your cake. Ensure that you place your order at least 10 days prior to the event.

Keep your theme in mind

The cake should be elegant and stand out on the day of your wedding, without being an eye sore. The style you pick should complement the setting of the venue and the theme of the wedding. So for a fairytale themed wedding, don’t opt for a black cake with black fondant.
