Gen Zubair Hayat attends countering threat of violent extremism conference in US

CJCSC also meets Chiefs of Defence Staff of Turkey and Brazil

Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee General Zubair Mahmood Hayat attended Chiefs of Defence Staff Conference in the United States on the subject of countering threat of violent extremism, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said on Wednesday.

On sidelines of the conference, Gen Hayat also held bilateral meetings with Chiefs of Defence Staff of Turkey and Brazil.

According to the military’s media wing, matters related to bilateral security interest and measures to improve the defence cooperation were discussed.

The conference was attended by representatives of 75 countries. The CJCSC chairman also met Commander US Central Command Gen Joseph L. Votel.
