QUETTA: A landslide in a coal mine killed three workers, and injured one on Friday. Six others are still stuck in the mine located in the Shahrag area of Harnai district.

Official sources have stated that ten miners were working in the Shahrag coal field area when the tragedy occurred. An official of the local administration said, "all ten mine workers were stuck deep inside the mine as the mouth of the mine closed due to land-sliding,” adding that the rescue workers and other miners rushed to the site and started rescue work.

They successfully retrieved four workers from the site late in the evening, and shifted them to the local hospital where three miners were declared dead one is currently being treated. "Six coal miners are still inside the mine and rescue workers are making efforts to reach them”, a levies official said.

The Mine Workers Union claimed that the concerned authorities of  the Mining department have not reached the site so far to help in the recovery of stuck miners.
