PESHAWAR: Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Pervez Khattak has said that he would head monitoring and implementation committee to ensure expediting work on Peshawar Region Circular Railway Project and other road communication related networks under CPEC.

He was presiding over a high level meeting at Chief Minister Secretariat Peshawar that among others was attended by additional chief secretary, administrative secretaries and officials concerned.

The meeting focused phases of various projects under CPEC including circular railway train, inter-connectivity of six districts, Chashma Lift Irrigation Scheme, commercial rate fixation of University Town.

CM Khatak said that implementation and monitoring committee would ensure that all the construction work should be of international standard.

The committee would comprise representatives both from federal and provincial governments. He also directed to convene an extraordinary meeting of the committee next week.

He termed CPEC projects future of the region and said that both Pakistan and China were the guarantors of all the agreements.

The Peshawar region mass transit circular railway project needed to be taken to next phase as K-P would take it up in next JCC meeting in November. Meeting also agreed that an expert committee would keep a vigil over circular railway track project.
