Growing demand: Bosan for investment in rural areas

ISLAMABAD: Minister for National Food Security and Research Sikandar Hayat Khan Bosan stressed on Monday the need for investing in rural development to create jobs and business opportunities for rural communities to control rural-urban migration and ensure sustainable agriculture growth in the country.



Addressing a seminar held here to commemorate the World Food Day, he said that the increasing trend of rural-urban migration is also creating deficiency of skilled manpower. The minister said that there is immense pressure on natural resources and environment due to increased crop and livestock production required to feed the growing population of the country.
