G-B to take over Satpara Dam

NHA officials brief committee on construction progress of Gilgit-Skardu road project

ISLAMABAD: Satpara Dam project would be handed over to the government of Gilgit-Baltistan (G-B) within six months as per the framework decided by Water and Power Development Authority (Wapda) and the G-B government, Water and Power Secretary for Gilgit-Balitstan informed the National Assembly Standing Committee on Kashmir Affairs and G-B on Monday.

‘Gilgit-Baltistan has central importance in reference to CPEC’

The committee was informed that the issues of Satpara dam are being resolved by Wapda and G-B government as per directives of standing committee. The committee chairman and Members lauded the officials for resolving the issue related to Satpara Dam, while observing that people of the area are facing economic losses and lack of facilities due to delay in the project.

Officials of National Highway Authority (NHA) also briefed the committee about the construction progress of Gilgit-Skardu road project.
