‘AJK focusing on quality education’

Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) President Masood Khan has said that the universities, colleges and schools in the liberated state are focusing on the quality of education after having achieved the targets on the quantity. He made these remarks while speaking at a seminar on “Promotion of Student Success: Connect, Inspire, Transform” organised by the Oxford University Press. Over 150 educationists and opinion leaders from all over Pakistan and AJK, besides faculty and students of 10 schools from the region participated in the seminar. Masood said AJK had emerged as the most literate region in the Pakistan. “It is a matter of pride that despite resource constraints, AJK has surpassed all other regions in educational score, enrolment , learning, retention, and gender scores”, he said. The president said that after having achieved 85% literacy rate, AJK was focusing on quality of education so that graduates may compete in the emerging market.
