Plea to broadcast court proceedings against Sharif family approved for hearing

Court seeks responses from federal government, others by November 27

The Lahore High Court (LHC) on Monday approved a plea, demanding live broadcast of court proceedings against the Sharif family and other parliamentarians in pending cases, for hearing.

According to Express News, the complainant in his application argued that it was a constitutional right of the people to watch the court proceedings against the elected lawmakers.

Sharif asks SC to club all references into one

Since such proceedings are telecast live on TV channels in the United States and Europe, it said, the same should be done in cases including Model Town.

The court while issuing notices to the federal government and others directed all the respondents to submit responses by November 27.
