Game of Thrones starlet, Sophie Turner who plays Sansa Stark in the fantasy series, is set to marry pop star boyfriend Joe Jonas.
The British star, 21, announced the happy news on Instagram, posting a picture of her hand sporting a diamond ring, on top of Jonas’s hand.
“I said yes,” she wrote.
US singer Jonas, 28, shared the same image on his account and wrote: “She said yes.”
The pair have been dating since 2016.
Jonas’s brother Nick was among those to send congratulations online.
Nick tweeted, “Ahh! Congratulations to my brother… and sister in law to be on your engagement. I love you both so much.”
Though Sophie and Joe are one of the most high-profile couples in celebsville right now (and no doubt will continue to be now that they’re getting married), they’ve always been very private about their relationship.
During an interview with Entertainment Tonight in July this year, Turner explained, “I think the key to remember is that it’s just like any other relationship and if you’re in Hollywood or if you’re in Africa, it’s all the same.”
She also told The Sunday Times, “I’m in a relationship, but it’s a very private relationship.”
“I’m happier than I’ve been in a very long time,” she told the publication. “I very much isolated myself for a while and forgot what was fun. Going out with friends, going out to eat, not really having a care. And people I’ve met recently in my life have drawn me out of that. It really helps you own those insecurities. The things I tortured myself about before, I can forget about,” she told Business Insider.
The Jonas Brothers was formed in 2005 and gained fame after appearances on the Disney Channel. The band was made up of the three brothers Nick, Joe and Kevin Jonas.
The three-piece broke up in 2013 and Joe Jonas is currently the lead singer for US dance-rock band DNCE.
