Throw corrupt politicians out of country, says ex-military ruler Musharraf
Musharraf hopes to form alliance, squash PPP, PML-N
All Pakistan Muslim League (APML) chief and former military ruler General (retd) Pervez Musharraf has said that all corrupt politicians should be thrown out of the country.
They, including the PML-N politicians, want to create chaos in the country and therefore, speak against the judiciary and the army, he added. "The Supreme Court should take notice of this."
He said those speaking against the army are enemies of the country and the nation will respond to them in a befitting manner. "Pakistan Army is the defender of the country and it has served in all times of difficulties while guarding the borders."
Addressing a rally in Karachi via phone from Dubai, Musharraf said his party, the APML, is going to cobble together a political alliance with PML-Functional and other like-minded parties.
Participants of the rally marched from Tariq Road to Mazar-e-Quaid. They were carrying placards inscribed with messages in the army’s support. They also chanted slogans against the PML-N and PPP.
Musharraf said his party will contest the next elections with a political alliance and if they are voted to power, they will fight against corruption.
He said the country is facing serious threats because of the flawed policies of the present rulers, to the extent where a premier was disqualified by the court based on corruption charges.
In the wake of the disqualification the PML-N is issuing statements against the army and the judiciary, which should be condemned, he said.
He said the country is on the verge of collapse due to the present government, the national exchequer is almost empty and the country is being run on loans.
He said the economy was doing much better during his regime as compared to the present situation while adding that it seems like corrupt politicians seem eager to sell the county out with their policies.
He went on to say that APML has started its political activities and will form a grand alliance to defeat Pakistan Peoples Party and the PML-N. He said that Karachi has awakened and many people from different parties are joining APML, and more are welcome to.
