I don't want 20 people wearing the same design: Zarmina Masud Khan

Zarmina Masud Khan, a fashion designer in Lahore, speaking on The Morning Show on Express 24/7 said that she did not want to see 20 people wearing the same design and this was the reason she kept bringing new collections now and then.

Khan, who is launching her new collection ChikkanKari - Beyond White in Lahore today (Wednesday), said, “I have made not more than ten dresses of the same design to avoid repetition”.

She said that she found the colour white most graceful colour of all, and the current collection was all about the shades of white. She added that the collection was called Beyond White, which has the traditional Indian embroidery ChikkanKari.

Launching alongside the collection is the unique Pakistan Zindabad collection which has the phrase 'Pakistan Zindabad' embroidered on the dresses.

“At the time when I was designing the collection, the World Cup was going on and I felt so emotional, I wanted to do something for Pakistan; and that’s how this collection came up,” commented Khan.

“The phrase blends in so well with the embroidery that it’s hard for people to point it out the first time they see it.”

She also said that she plans on expanding her collection to Dubai, Karachi and Islamabad after the exhibition.
