Collaboration: Chinese firms to help design furniture

Chinese furniture producers on Wednesday inked a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to further enhance collaboration in designing modern furniture to compete in the international market by making the sector cost and quality-efficient and pave the way for improved trade ties between the two countries.
According to a statement, the MoU signing ceremony was held at the headquarters of Pakistan Furniture Council (PFC) in which producers of all leading local brands participated. PFC CEO Mian Kashif Ashfaq and Chu Lee from the Chinese side inked the MoU. Highlighting its salient features, Ashfaq said the understanding would help facilitate increased links between Pakistani and Chinese businesses, encourage joint ventures in China and Pakistan and bring technology to Pakistan.
