Wheat Procurement: 72,000 tonnes to be purchased

As much as 72,000 tonnes of wheat would be purchased at the nine procurement centres.

SIALKOT: As much as 72,000 tonnes of wheat would be purchased at the nine procurement centres established in Sialkot, District Food Controller Habibur Rehman said on Tuesday. He said that two procurement centres each were set up in Sialkot and Daska, four in Pasrur and one in Sambrial. He said the administration would ensure that the farmers and growers were facilitated at these centres. He said gunny bags distribution would start from April 20, 2011(today) while procurement would begin from April 22, 2011. He said each farmer would get 200 gunny bags. He said that only clean and dust-free wheat would be purchased.
