ISLAMABAD: The government is considering making laws for action against those involved in sending excessive bills to the consumers, said Minister for Energy Owais Khan Leghari on Tuesday. Responding to a Calling Attention Notice in National Assembly regarding unjustified overbilling, discouraging the people to install meter and pay bill, the minister said that legislation has been enacted against those involved in power pilferage but the government will also make laws to control over-billing and check excessive billing to the consumers. He said that inefficiencies have been identified in distribution companies and efforts would be made to overcome them. He vowed to provide greater relief to the consumers within six months and further improvement of transmission lines.
