LAHORE:
The opposition benches demanded of the government to depute normal security officials with former prime minister Nawaz Sharif rather than giving him the same protocol he enjoyed as prime minister.

Opposition leader Mian Mehmoodur Rasheed made this demand through a resolution submitted in the Punjab Assembly on Tuesday, seeking attention of the House. He contended that the country’s top court had disqualified Nawaz two months ago and still the government was providing him the same security protocol.

Why official protocol for criminal Maryam Nawaz, asks Imran

Rasheed pointed out that there are 288 police officials, including one SP, three DSPs and three inspectors, rendering their duties with Nawaz. Meanwhile, deputy opposition leader Muhammad Sibtain Khan of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf  also submitted a resolution, demanding the government increase salaries of visually-impaired persons and they should be paid at least Rs25,000.
