KARACHI: The city is likely to experience unusually hot spells on Tuesday and Wednesday, which could increase the mercury level up to 41° Celsius, according to the Karachi Meteorological (Met) department

Earlier on Friday, the Met department forecast that a heatwave could persist for the whole week, raising the temperature to 40°C. However, while talking to Express News, acting Chief Meteorologist Abdul Rashid said that during the five-day heatwave, from today (Sunday) to October 13, the weather could remain hot.

Karachi likely to experience heatwave from today

During these hot days, the level of humidity is likely to remain moderate, which is why people will not suffer from heat strokes. In the past, the deadly heatwave caused the suspension of sea winds, raising the level of humidity in the air to an unexpected high up to 65%, which contributed to its intensity. The Met department said that nearly 64, 43.3°C was the highest recorded temperature in the month of October.
